FOUNDATION TRAINING EXERCISE

Before describing this system of exercise  I want to say a few things. I am almost evangelistic in my enthusiasm. Since practicing  for almost 2 years I experience lasting benefit in my improved posture, breathing capacity and core strength.  Some of the foundation elements of this system have found their way into  virtually all my movements and activities.  The simple acts of standing and walking are basically more alive and pleasurable.

Simply the best therapeutic exercise for sustained improved posture, respiratory/breathing capacity and chronic or acute back pain. FOUNDATION TRAINING is a movement practice utilizing your body weight, breath and movement to restore the body’s natural order and put YOU at the center of your health. It teaches your body how to properly support itself and move as nature intended. 

Foundation Training Exercise was developed by Chiropractor and movement expert, Dr. Eric Goodman, to heal his chronic back pain and avoid surgery for multiple disc herniations. This program is not a temporary remedy but a systematic solution that creates long term health.

FT uses a combination of powerful movements, intentional poses and conscious breathing to activate the muscles of your posterior chain. When practiced regularly pain diminishes, your resistance to injury increases and your body becomes more comfortable.

These deceptively simple looking exercises provide just the right movements and positions to strengthen each individual area we are weak in. The deep postural muscles that hold us upright and determine our movement are re-activated, muscles you have not used for years will come on line and fire, nerves that have been dormant will perk up and revitalize.

I have attended two certification FOUNDATION TRAINING CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS and am working toward my certification as a teacher. To that end I offer free, ongoing, informal instruction at my office.
